A BILL to amend article one, chapter fifty of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended,
by adding thereto a new section, designated section nine-b,
relating to increasing the salaries of magistrate court
clerks, deputy clerks and assistants.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article one, chapter fifty of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be
amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section
nine-b, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 1. COURTS AND OFFICERS.
§50-1-9b. Salary increase for magistrate court clerks,
magistrate court deputy clerks and magistrate assistants.
Effective the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred
ninety-nine, the salary of every magistrate court clerk,
magistrate court deputy clerk and magistrate assistant that has
been employed in that capacity since the first day of June, one
thousand nine hundred ninety-nine,
shall be increased by
eighty-four dollars a month. This increase shall be made
notwithstanding the limitations contained in sections eight, nine
and nine-a of this article.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to increase the salaries
of magistrate court clerks, magistrate court deputy clerks and
magistrate assistants by about $1,000 a year.
